Sara Nassim selected for Producers on the Move in Cannes 2024

Producer Sara Nassim has been selected to represent Iceland in this year's Producers on the Move, the networking platform for up-and-coming producers organized by European Film Promotion (EFP), which takes place annually during the Cannes Film Festival. The programme celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. 20 of Europe's most promising producers from 20 different countries will take part in the event.

Co-owner of S101 in Reykjavík, Sara is a film producer known for her visionary approach in bringing stories to life on the screen. Sara has years of experience in the film industry and has produced numerous short films, received a Grammy nomination and been involved in many well-known Icelandic feature films. She was on Variety's 10 Producers to Watch list in 2021. Her feature producing debut, Lamb, premiered in Un Certain Regard in Cannes in 2021, winning the Prize of Originality. Sara currently in post-production on a feature-length project with the musician and artist Björk and in development on new projects including Valdimar Jóhannsson's and Grímur Hákonarson's next projects.

The Producers on the Move programme at the Cannes International Film Festival gives promising emerging European producers from 20 European countries a platform and the opportunity to build and enlarge their international network. Participants will meet potential co-production partners and sales companies in one-on-one meetings and take part in project pitching, case studies, social events and a comprehensive promotional campaign.
