Nordisk Film & TV Fond is seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a start date of October 1, 2019 and will replace the departing CEO Petri Kemppinen, set to leave on October 31st, 2019.

Nordisk Film & TV Fond Background Information
Nordisk Film & TV Fond provides top up financing, supports and promotes the production and distribution of high-quality Nordic feature films, drama series and documentaries, with a potential beyond their home country. The Fund also supports film-cultural initiatives, arranges networking events, launches strategic development projects and administers the Nordic Council Film Prize. The aim is to strengthen Nordic content and creative talent, to broaden audience access, and to support the Nordic brand in a global market – culturally, artistically and commercially.
Nordisk Film & TV Fond is financed through an agreement with the Nordic Council of Ministers, the five Nordic film institutes and twelve Nordic broadcasters. The Fund has a yearly budget of around NOK 110 million.
Job Purpose
Nordisk Film & TV Fond is recruiting a new CEO with the mission to promote and support Nordic film and TV drama by the continuous development of the fund and its relations to the industry, the funding partners and other stakeholders.
Job Description
The main responsibility for the new CEO will be to initiate and develop strategic projects and to build and nurture external relations to further promote and support Nordic films, documentaries and TV dramas. The new CEO will also be involved in the evaluation of individual projects, support the team and make the final decisions regarding funding. Collecting insights of present and future needs of the industry, acting upon them, navigating the Nordic political landscape and representing the Fund and Nordic film and television industries at Nordic and international forums are other important aspects of the position.
The CEO will, in close cooperation with Nordisk Film & TV Fond team of five employees, work out strategies and initiatives to continue to develop and optimise the position of the Nordic countries in the Nordic and global film and television areas.
The CEO will report to the Board, consisting of five industry members representing Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a profound knowledge and experience from the film and television industry (production and/or distribution) who are truly motivated by taking the lead in strengthening Nordic film and television for the future. Leadership experience from general management and project management is a requirement, as is a well-developed network in the Nordic film and television industry. The working languages are Scandinavian and English and the CEO must be fluent in Danish, Norwegian or Swedish, as well as in English, both spoken and written.
Leadership qualities as well as the ability to assess quality and to make qualified decisions are key criteria for this role. Important personal qualities are visionary and strategic capacity, creativity and an eagerness to drive change and build positive relations combined with excellent communication skills and high ethical standards.
Working arrangements
The CEO is appointed for a four-year period, with the possibility of another four years’ extension. The location is the office of Nordisk Film & TV Fond in Oslo. The expected start is October 1st 2019, or as soon as possible thereafter.
